While working on the final report for HC Active, a thought occurred to me. Assuming evolution exists in some form or fashion and our senses exist because of this evolution then would hearing be mostly defensive?
Sight would be for curiosity/interest – let me see that?
Hearing for defense/protection – did you hear that?
the rest I haven’t sorted but if this idea is correct, it could explain why some people who lose their hearing become isolated and less confident. They have lost the sense originally designed for protection.
