100% of the four person team from the London Business School Rock & Mountain Club have summited Mt. Everest.
The team left in March this year and summited at the end of May. Omar Samra (MBA2007) became the first Egyptian to summit, reaching the top together with alumni Greg Maud (SEMBA2003) on 17 May. Team leader Ben Stephens (MBA2007) summited on 24 May together with his girlfriend Tori James who became the first ever Welsh Woman and Britain’s youngest female to reach the top.
For photos of the team and their diary of the incredible journey to the top of the world please visit http://www.everest2007.net/blog/page/2/. Members of the team will be holding a presentation at London Business School in the near future where you will be able to find out firsthand what it is like to struggle against the elements and a severe lack of oxygen to reach the world’s highest point. Further details to be announced on portal and on www.everest2007.net/events/index.php.
The team is very grateful to the many alumni and students who individually and through their companies helped the team achieve their dream together with the team’s ardent Base Camp Club supporters whose messages of support have kept the team going through tougher times than the team ever imagined they would face. Details of our supporters can be found at http://www.everest2007.net/sponsorship/sponsorship.php
The team would be very grateful if you would like to support them in their fundraising effort in aid of the Prince’s Trust. So far the team have raised £7,500 and would like to double this. Please visit the Team’s Just Giving site at http://www.justgiving.com/everest2007expedition.
Yours sincerely
