We’ve now been in Dallas over two days and both of us are ready to find an apartment so we can start getting settled. The final straw was the fire alarm at our hotel last night around 12am (guess that’s morning really). Once the apartment is secured then onto searching for a car. We’ve scheduled some time for a trip to the library to do some research on cars (Consumer Reports, Blue Book, et al.)
The transition is going fairly well. We’re still running well within the budget/cash flow projections (oh I do love MBA speak) and the people we’ve met have all been friendly. I will get to practice my Spanish a good bit down here but that’s not surprising since Mexico and the US are essentially merging along the souther border.
Once we get settled I’m going to start writing about the differences I see in the US versus the UK and the differences that I can remember from when I lived here in 2003.
Glad to hear you arrived in Dallas safe and sound, that you’re in cashflow/budget projections, and that all is well. I miss both of you in London…
