First Tornado Warning

April 1, 2008 By Al Martine

I greatly underestimated how much a tornado warning in my area would disrupt my concentration.

The image capture here is from a couple minutes ago.

I’ve instantly realized that the most unnerving part is not having complete information on the event.  The sirens go off, ‘We’re under a tornado warning – seek shelter” broadcast every two minutes but we don’t have much more to go on except the hope that the broadcast would change to something like “run for the hills” if something did get close.  Or, “duck and cover” or well – kiss your ass good bye – who knows.

Funniest thing – the reaction of my current project manager:

Dude

The real cell is south of Dallas but it may move south and east

That said north Texans get super excited about these non events – good for local media during cowboys off season

Guess it’s time to go back to old Cowboy highlights work.
