Tomorrow is kickoff.
Tomorrow the misery of the pit loss starts to diminish.
All the talk and the worry about a head painter instead of an architect leading the design will either start to be put to rest, or start the process of WVU finding a real coach. I will not change my mind until the data prove me wrong on my feelings that the latter is sadly true. It’s good to hear the players want to come to the stadium, but do they want to rip Villanova for 45 points with the cheerleaders playing the final quarter?
Should we expect a National Championship this year? Without seeing the talent on the field (especially those youngsters guarding our QB), I don’t expect an undefeated season regardless of the coach because there’s too many gaps from the previous year, but if we don’t thump ‘Nova, ECU (on principle), Marshall (thanks to the Board of Trustees for the state of West Virginia the teams will be playing for the coveted wooden pizza box), UConn, Cincinnati, Syracuse and Pitt. Seven wins. Seven blowouts. Period. Not real games. Rip their f#$king helmets off wins.
- Colorado, Rutgers, Louisville – we win these with equal or lesser talent and I’ll take a break on the painter
- (F) USF – A win and he’s my guy (along with the others) and he goes from Bob the Builder (I’m sure he paints) to da Vinci
- And, if we beat Auburn at our house (with all the other wins) – well I’ll publicly apologize for doubting the wisdom of a hiring committee that brought us Garrison.
I do like the idea that we’re back to underdogs and no one respects our team. And, hopefully by the end of the season – I’m no longer one of them.
In the immortal words of the late Jack Flemming – Let’s Bring on the Mountaineers!
