{{Before I go any farther, N’… err the Divine Miss N … my post was first :) }}
Just went to see the CEO of Craigs List, Jim Buckmaster, give a presentation on Campus and it was like a good cool glass of water on a warm day. Essentially, Craig’s List is the un-MBA business. When asked about their decision making process: ‘We really don’t have meetings’; planning process: ‘We don’t really plan, we’re mostly reactive to what our readers want.’
It was great! No values curve or Porters. In response to a question about competitors, ‘We don’t really view anyone as competitors.’
… and somewhere in the strategy department we heard a very small cry.
While you made read a more detailed and probably better written summary elsewhere, just know mine was the first. :)
