I remember reading in of my pre-MBA books about the different terms. The first term was harsh but the second term was far more reasonable due to the job search and internship process. The part that I sort of forgot until last week was the writing on the third term. One of the books said something like, ‘Just when you started to feel you had a life and were almost human, you’ll see work loads go through the roof.’
Yep, that about sums it up. The last two weeks have been ‘near first term’ levels, with a test on Saturday and a whole wide range of projects and papers due. Heck, even our Macro-Econ assignment sort of feels like entry-level stats. It’s one of those where we all feel we should know what the question is really asking but frankly, don’t.
My extra curricular activities are starting to come into full swing as well. I’m coaching the MBAT basketball team and coordinating the summer ball. Sometimes I get my summer ball committee to run laps. And consult with the basketball folks about colour schemes. :)
The sad thing is that I’m starting to realise that it’s nearing the end for this year and have a feeling that next year will have a completely different feel. Guess being at NYU for four months will probably help that feeling. Our theme for the Summer Ball is ‘One Last Celebration’ so over the last couple weeks I’ve been putting up flyers talking about how many days are left. It’s hard not to start thinking about it.
A lot has happened in such a short time. It may take a couple years to really digest the entire thing: the classes, the people and the experiences. Of course, right now I just need to figure out my Spanish. And, when I’ll sleep during the next couple days.
